The Natural Park of the Corralejo Dunes

Crystal clear waters and sand dunes of fine white sand.

The Corralejo Dunes are opposite Lobos Island, an area that was declared a Natural Park in 2002.

Among its magnificent beaches with turquoise waters we should mention some like Alzada, el Moro, el Burro or Bajo Negro; very frequented by lovers of water sports for being one of the best places on the island to practise these activities.

The Corralejo Dunes, which as 20 minutes by car from the centre of Corralejo, make up the most extensive dune system on the island and are one of its main tourist attractions. Dunes up to 50 metres high and an exceptional landscape of absolute peace characterise this area.

Their almost 8 kilometres of coastline have an organic origin since the dunes come from the breaking up and pulverization of mollusc shells and other marine organisms.

The Malpaís area is found inside the Corralejo Dunes; a desert extension where the land is covered with volcanic rock.
